Dr. Mark Torgerson over at the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies has done a valuable service to the world by providing the most comprehensive bibliography of worship materials that I’ve ever seen. Updated just this month, it’s all wrapped up in one PDF and has a detailed and organized table of contents. Best yet, it’s annotated, which means it doesn’t just give you the references but explains the thrust book in a sentence or two.  If it weren’t annotated, it would feel paralyzing, simply because it’s so massive.

It also does not appear to be biased toward any one Christian tradition.  Granted, the Webber IWS is a Protestant institution, but there is a decent representation of important Catholic and Orthodox works, as well.  

I must mention one surprising oversight.  Where is Jean-Jacques von Allmen’s seminal work, Worship: Its Theology & Practice?  It most certainly deserves a place.
